Seminar Report on: Problems and Prospects of Women Entrepreneurship in Beauty Parlour: A Study in Sylhet. Shahjalal University of Science Technology Department of Business Administration Executive Summary Recognition of the need of women entrepreneurship has grown considerably in Bangladesh over the recent years. Because of the recognition, more supportive environment has been created for the women and more and more women entrepreneurs are engaging in business especially in small business and other self- employments. Government and development partners are paying more attention towards this sector because many women work in this sector. So, there are huge prospects in this sector especially true in case of beauty parlor in Sylhet which led by women. But all pictures are not beautiful. Despite huge prospects, they are suffering from some short comings such as lack of effective training, lack of formal education, inadequate govt interruption, a nd mistreatment by supportive agencies. We think and hope that government will come toward to solve these problems. Objectives of the study: 1. To analyze the prospects of women entrepreneurship in beauty parlour. 2. To explore the constraints which they are facing. 3. To suggest some recommendations for effective solutions. Methodology of the study: To reach our objectives both primary and secondary data are collected. We have collected primary data through questionnaire and interview. We visited 20 beauty parlour. We have interviewed and filled up questionnaires by them. Besides secondary information used to analyze and synthesize the data.
